Our fleet is managed by our in-house team of highly skilled, talented, and committed professionals with extensive operational, technical, and commercial expertise in the maritime industry. The Velos team combines marine sea experience and academic know-how, fulfilling a balanced integration of seamanship best-bred practices with technical competence.

    The Velos chartering office comprises of an in-house team of seasoned brokers based in our Athens headquarters. The commercial team undertakes to ensure that the fleet performs and complies with all pre-employment requirements, develops optimal long-term or spot employment strategies, while, at the same time, carries out in-depth market research, assesses employment opportunities, and completes vessel fixtures in a proficient manner. The Velos commercial team leverages on solid, long-standing commercial collaborations and a trusted network of reputable broker houses and first-class Charterers.

    The crew department’s objective is to select, recruit, train, and retain a highly-skilled, qualified professional marine workforce who will manage and operate the Velos fleet in accordance with the Company’s requirements and applicable regulations while ensuring the safe and environmentally efficient operation of our vessels. 


    Seafarers constitute the cornerstone for the safe operation of any vessel. Through rigorous recruitment & induction procedures, continuous comprehensive performance assessments, career development plans, enhanced training procedures onboard and ashore, and firm management’s engagement, we aim to ensure that our crew’s competence levels fully meet or exceed assigned rank requirements.

    The HSQE is responsible for implementing a sound, efficient, and continuously advancing Safety and Environmental Management System that is capable to abide or even surpass industry requirements through solid leadership and a high level of personal and collective accountability., both on board and ashore.


    The HSQE and marine teams comprise of committed, highly qualified professionals with extensive marine backgrounds and sea experience who competently oversee the Velos Fleet and its continuous alignment with applicable Company requirements and international regulations.

    Our Operations team overlooks and provides operational support for voyage and cargo operations to onboard teams, assuring that all fleet operations are conducted safely, smoothly, and efficiently, delivering the highest quality of services to our clients. 


    The principal objective of the department is to ensure that operational standards and daily operational practice fully reflect the requirements and expectations of our Principals and Charterers whilst also ensuring that the execution of assigned contracts is carried out seamlessly, safely, efficiently, timely, and adhering fully to applicable rules and regulations. 

  • Safety-driven technical expertise. 

    The Velos Technical Department team comprises of a pool of experienced and qualified marine engineers, naval architects, and electrical engineers that combine extensive hands-on marine sea expertise with advanced technical know-how. The diverse competencies of the technical team ascertain a balanced integration of seamanship engineering best-bred practices with technocratic competence and technical efficiency. In addition, a qualified team of purchasers supports the technical team in ensuring that the procurement of stores and spares is carried out reliably, efficiently, and timely. 

    A fundamental objective of the Technical Department is to ascertain that the best maintenance standards are applied on the fleet vessels and that implemented practices fulfill the requirements of the Company, the vessels’ commercial needs, and the industry’s applicable rules and regulations. Moreover, the principal objectives of the Technical department are the following:

    • To implement effective and reliable maintenance and repair processes in order to ensure that all fleet vessels operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
    • To continually strive to improve the efficiency of the vessels within their technical capabilities.
    • To implement an effective electronic preventive maintenance system.
    • To develop a comprehensive dry-dock specification system that will integrate continual improvement processes and technical upgrades.
    • To ensure compliance with all statutory and classification society requirements.
    • To apply a structured program of frequent onboard vessel visits and via close day-to-day performance monitoring to cultivate solid cooperation with the onboard crew while fostering a strong safety and environmental awareness culture.
    • To closely follow up and integrate the latest technological, safety, and energy optimization trends in the Maritime Industry.
